Job Description

We’re seeking a Staff Product Designer to join the Kraken Pro design team, working on trading and investment products. At Kraken Pro, design is central to everything we do—we make complex products for a skilled and knowledgeable client base, and we never stop improving our products and our way of working. We love wicked design problems, turning complex requirements and trading concepts into elegant interfaces optimised for the diverse needs of our clients. We’re obsessed with our products and care about the smallest details.
The Opportunity

We work fast and we work hard. We emphasise iteration and continuous progress.
We value autonomy and initiative. You won’t be micro-managed, though you’ll always be in close contact with and supported by your team—not least through periodic design crits and reviews where you can give and receive meaningful feedback.
We make data-informed decisions. We do our own research.
We take full accountability for our work. We consider every detail and can explain every decision.
We’re super visual. We want our products to look and feel beautiful while meeting and exceeding our clients’ needs.
We’re true believers. We work here because we believe in the mission of accelerating crypto adoption and expanding financial freedom.

What you’ll do as a product designer at Kraken Pro

Understand and balance business objectives, client needs, insights and technical constraints to create meaningful and impactful designs.
Identify pain points, gaps, opportunities for improvements—then pro-actively drive change.
Work closely with Product, UXR, Engineering, Support and other stakeholders, taking designs from exploration and prototyping to production.
Harness data to drive and support strategy and design decisions.
Stay up to date with developments among competitors and in the wider DeFi, TradFi and design field

Skills you should HODL

A portfolio that speaks volumes: Show us the best of your portfolio, focusing on how you solve complex problems and highlighting your commitment to quality, data-driven design, human-centered processes and visual excellence.
Mastery of UI/UX: Proficient in creating world-class user-centered designs that align with business goals. A keen understanding of user experience and user interface principles across mobile and desktop.
Design development: Beyond mastering Figma, you possess an understanding of how designs translate to production and have experience working closely with developers in agile environments.
Adherence to standards: A firm grasp of design standards, ensuring that designs comply with design systems and best practices for usability, accessibility and industry best practices.
Curious, insight and data-driven: You’re keen to understand the business, the larger context, the users and the competitive landscape. You enjoy asking questions and learning new things every day. You’re driven to optimize impact together with partners in UX Research, Data and Product.
Collaborative and open-minded: You’ll thrive in our evolving design team, with an emphasis on continuous learning and egoless collaboration. And you’ll be empowered to help shape our culture and improve how we work.
History of satisfied collaborations: You can demonstrate a track record of successful partnerships with colleagues who would eagerly work with you again.
Interested in trading and crypto: You’re quick to understand complex financial and trading concepts. Excited by the world-changing opportunities offered by crypto and blockchain tech.
