Re-announcement: Nehru Wangchuck Scholarship for Academic Year 2024

The Royal Civil Service Commission is pleased to re-announce the availability of scholarships (6 slots) for civil servants under the Nehru-Wangchuck Scholarship for the 2024 intake after reprioritization as follows:
- Masters in Land Governance and Management: Administration Service (to be transferred to NLCS after course completion)
- Masters in Geodesy: Survey Engineers, GIS Officers (to be transferred to NLCS after course completion if the applicant is from another agency)
- Masters in Financial/Professional Accounting: Finance Service
- Masters in Law (LLM): Legal officers / Attorneys

Masters of Demography: Civil Registration and Census Officer - Masters of Information Technology: ICT Officers
- Master’s in Nursing Program:
- Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing
- Oncology Nursing
- Emergency and Trauma Nursing: Clinical Nurses
1. Allowances and Payments for Successful Candidates:
- Tuition Fees and other admission-related costs
- Nu. 50,000 as Monthly Stipend
- Nu. 12,500 as Book allowance (annually)
- Nu. 10,000 as One-time establishment allowance
- Thesis/Research Grant of Nu. 63,000 on actual submission of receipts (eligible only if the course is research-based)
- Airfare (one time to & fro)
- Coverage of health insurance
2. Prerequisites of the University/Institute:
- Completed bachelor's degree and meets minimum academic requirements of the University/Institute
3. Additional Requirements as per BCSR 2023:
- Should have a bachelor's degree at the time of entry into civil service or be selected through BCSE
- Should fulfill other Eligibility criteria specified in Section 7.7.4 where applicable
- Clean service record
- Civil servants applying for the scholarship and the agency nominating the candidate must ensure the applicant fulfills all the relevant eligibility criteria prescribed in the BCSR 2023
4. System Generated Information:
- CV
- Moderation score/Performance Evaluation Ratings (IWP) for the past two financial years
- Email address and phone number
- Place of posting detail for rural posting weightage
- Academic transcripts & certificates (RCSC will contact applicants to submit if documents are not available in the system)
5. Documents Required While Applying:
- Nomination letter from the agency
- Duly signed LTT Checklist
- Any other supporting documents
6. Application Procedure:
- Interested applicants must log into the Self Service Portal, ZESt, within the scholarship application deadline and verify the information reflected in their CV.
- Interested applicants must submit the above documents to HRDD, RCSC after routing through respective agencies within the given deadline.
- Agencies should ensure that NoC can be provided to candidates selected for the scholarship. Therefore, application documents should be submitted to the HRDD, RCSC, for those applicants only.
- Once shortlisted candidates are announced, respective agencies shall seek approval from HRC and inform RCSC of the decision.
7. Shortlist and Selection Procedure:
- Shortlist and selection criteria shall be as per the BCSR 2023 for all courses with specific selection procedure detailed.
8. Post-Selection Procedure:
- Selected civil servants should submit necessary documents to the HRDD, RCSC, within five working days from the date of announcement of the interview result.

- Announcement of the Scholarship: 06-May-2024
- Deadline for Application: 20-May-2024
