Job Description:
Bar Operations: Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including cocktails, mocktails, beers, wines, and spirits, in accordance with established recipes and standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including bar equipment, glassware, and supplies. Monitor and manage bar inventory, including ordering and restocking supplies as needed. Adhere to all relevant laws and regulations regarding the service and sale of alcoholic beverages. Ensure responsible alcohol service practices and comply with age verification requirements.
Customer Service: Provide friendly, attentive, and personalized service to all guests, maintaining a positive and welcoming atmosphere. Interact with guests to take orders, answer questions, and make recommendations based on their preferences. Handle guest inquiries, comments, and complaints promptly and professionally, resolving issues to their satisfaction. Anticipate guest needs and proactively address any potential service issues.
Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen staff and other team members to coordinate food and beverage service efficiently. Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure smooth transitions between shifts and seamless service delivery. Assist in training and mentoring new team members, sharing knowledge and best practices.
Hygiene and Safety: Follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures, including handling and storage of food and beverage items. Adhere to health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and safe work environment at all times. Monitor and maintain equipment functionality, reporting any maintenance issues or safety concerns.
Upselling and Revenue Generation: Promote special promotions, menu items, and events to guests, actively engaging in upselling to enhance guest experience and increase revenue. Monitor sales and inventory trends, identifying opportunities for improvement and revenue growth. Contribute ideas for menu development, signature cocktails, and creative promotions to attract and retain customers.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in food and beverage service, with a focus on bar operations, preferred.
- Strong knowledge of beverage preparation techniques, including cocktails, beers, wines, and spirits.
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to interact positively with guests of diverse backgrounds.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in order taking, drink preparation, and cash handling.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, remaining calm under pressure.
- Basic math skills for calculating orders, processing payments, and managing inventory.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
